Phlebotomist/Lab Assistant II In Illinois Job Details

Basic Function: This position requires that the employee be able to perform rudimentary laboratory duties. A variety of tasks fall within this classification such as blood collection from patients of all ages, performance of urinalysis and other functions within the department under the supervision of a Medical Technologist.

Requirements for this position include: High school graduate; manual dexterity; the ability to accurately follow directions and perform specific functions; the ability to communicate effectively with hospitalized patients and outpatients; the ability to perform moderate, physical effort; completion of one year of employment as Phlebotomist Level I, or if sufficient previous experience, on hire after ninety days of employment as a Phlebotomist Level I with the approval of the administrative director. (Requirement may be waived for previous employees of Memorial Health Systems.)
