Basic Function: Leads efforts to improve nursing practice and patient care under the direction of the Director of Nursing Practice Development. Responsible for promoting the advancement of nursing practice through mentorship to nursing staff and role modeling of professional practice. Is a resource person and consultant for concerns involving nursing staff support, patient care, and nursing practice. Operationalizes duties and responsibilities in a manner that supports the recruitment and retention goals of the Nursing Division.
Requirements for this position include:
1. | Current licensure as an R.N. in the State of Illinois. |
2. | Master?s degree, preferably in nursing. Will consider candidates actively enrolled in a Master's program with completion of degree within 1 year from date of hire. |
3. | Minimum two years' experience as a staff nurse or nurse manager. |
4. | Prior teaching experience preferred. |
5. | Ability to develop, implement and evaluate teaching - learning activities. |
6. | Demonstrate consistent pattern of continuing professional development. |
7. | Holds nursing certification in area of clinical specialty. |
