Basic Function: Serves as an information technology resource in support of the Radiology Department's information systems and associated components, interfaces, and applications. Responds to requests for technical assistance (including error correction), implements systems changes, and evaluates requests for enhancements or modifications. Develops associated training materials and conducts training for all users and physicians for assigned systems.
Requirements for the position include: Bachelor's degree in business, information technology, nursing, or other health-care related discipline, or the equivalent combination in education and work experience is required; Two or more years work experience in the health care industry, with a working knowledge of radiology department workflow and operations is required; Registered radiographer (ARRT-R) in good standing or registry eligible is required; Active license in radiography from the Illinois Department of Nuclear Safety is required; Excellent oral and written communication, problem-solving, training, and project management skills are required; Ability to work in a team setting and collaboratively with all levels inside and outside of the organization, including physicians and external suppliers as needed is required; Good working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, data base presentation, and project computer application software is required.. Experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, and Project) is strongly preferred; Ability to multi-task while working on multiple system responsibilities simultaneously is required; Sound knowledge and functionality of integrated operating system networks used in radiology is required. Previous work experience or knowledge of programming is preferred.
