Basic Function:  Provides support for all aspects of financial management for the Department of Perioperative Services, including analysis of resource costs, supply expenses, and sources of revenue.  Leads the development, tracking and reporting of complex budgetary and financial functions of Perioperative Services.  Assists all Managers, Directors and Administrator with the planning, organizing, implementing and monitoring of the annual operating and capital budgets and the division?s CDM.  Provides complex financial analysis of special projects including business plans, major capital purchases, and facility renovation projects.  Implements actions to improve data quality, collection processes and report designs to meet requests and changing needs of management. Assists with analysis of other key Department performance metrics.  Supports the development of strategies and initiatives to improve performance.  Provides leadership, coaching and facilitation to process improvement teams.  Responsible for ensuring that the Department meets all accreditation and regulatory requirements.


 


Specifications: Knowledge, Training, Work Experience & Physical Effort:


    1.    Bachelors Degree in business, accounting or finance required. MBA with an emphasis in finance preferred. 


    2.    Registered Nurse with valid IL license possessing formal process improvement training and ability to demonstrate knowledge of Baldrige, Lean and Six Sigma strongly preferred.  


    3.    Five (5) years professional experience managing complex financial functions that include budget preparation and management, reporting, planning, project management and analysis required. 


    4.    Three (3) years experience in a health care related area that demonstrates experience in using process improvement tools/methodology and leading/coaching process improvement teams required.


    5.    Ability to demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and Access Database required. 


    6.    Experience with Charge Master preferred.


    7.    Excellent written and oral communication skills required.


    8.    Demonstrated experience creating executive level presentation documents required.


        Experience managing and prioritizing multiple projects concurrently.
