Master?s or degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or closely related human service field.  Must have valid IL Driver?s License, clean driving record, reliable transportation, and proof of automobile insurance. Must have keyboarding and computer skills as required by position.

Provides community-based diagnostic, referral, follow-up, and advocacy services for youth ages 13-17 who have been found to be delinquent, or who are in violation of probation for a delinquent act, or who would be sentenced to the Juvenile Division of the Department of Corrections by a judge, and for whom there are no other available resources to meet the youth's needs.

Also works closely with Detention Center staff to identify appropriate referrals to the initiative in order to divert youth from further penetration into the criminal justice system, demonstrate the feasibility of short-term community-based corrections, and provide a normalizing experience by using local resources.
