Lab Support Associate I In Illinois Job Details

Hours: 11:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. with Weekends as Required

Basic Function:  Assists with the data entry of outpatient physician orders and attaches barcodes to biological specimens. Understands basic billing concepts. Rechecks physician orders for errors. Processes biological specimens to appropriate laboratory departments. Provide clients with reference information for physician orders. Reports test results verbally, by fax communication or direct printing to client and physician offices.  Prints and separates physician reports for distribution to the appropriate physician offices and nursing units.

Requirements for the position include:

1.       High school graduate.

2.       Customer service oriented.

3.       Basic communication skills required.

4.       Basic Medical Terminology helpful.

5.       Demonstrate the ability to type and use a keypad.

6.    Light physical effort.
