Basic Function: Responsible for the implementation and utilization of the LIS to meet customer expectations and maximize efficiencies throughout the laboratory. Performs the technical and advisory functions in the system development cycle and acts as the lead analyst offering technical supervision over lateral or lower level staff while working on medium to large scale projects. Assures that the LIS is functioning well with other systems within the lab and within the Medical Center, and is in compliance with all applicable regulatory standards. Serves as a project manager, trainer and analyst during design, development, evaluation, selection, implementation and ongoing support of all assigned systems.

Requirements of this position include:

1.       Bachelor?s degree in computer Biology, Science, Business or related discipline in systems related applications required.

2.       5 -7 years system analysis or programming experience.

3.       MT (ASCP) preferred.

4.       Experience with instrument interfaces and foreign-system interfaces.

5.       Experience in managing small to medium scale projects.

6.       Ability to research and analyze system requirements, develop alternatives and implement solutions.

7.       Broad understanding of computer systems, including hardware, operating systems and data communications.
