MHCCI - Personal Support Worker In Illinois Job Details

Hours: Before 9 AM and after 2 PM

Must be at least 18 years old.  High school diploma and a minimum of 1 year experience working with developmentally disabled individuals.  DSP preferred but not required.  Must have reliable automobile, clean driving record, and proof of automobile insurance. Must have keyboarding and computer skills as required by position.

Provides services designed to deflect unwarranted placement into institutional or long-term setting.  Provides direct service to clients who have exhibited low frequency or minor adaptive behaviors, or who have manageable physical impairment, or who need ongoing rehabilitation programming

Provide support to persons with developmental disabilities, their natural family, guardian or foster family in order to maintain the individual in the least restrictive alternative in a crisis or routine situation.

Promote a living situation which is supportive and strengthening with the goal of helping residents by training/instructing recipients according to Individual Service Plans initiated for/by clients and/or their guardians to move to higher levels of personal responsibility.  (Budgeting, maintenance of residence, meal planning and preparation, and daily living skills.)
