8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. with weekends as needed (20 hrs/week)
Plan, organize and direct all aspects of Southern & Central Illinois Advisory Group for Ethics (SAGE) including provision of educational seminars. Possesses leadership as well as technical and professional skills. Assists in the activities of the Clinical Ethics Center, and the Ethics Consultation Service. All duties are performed in accordance with established policies, procedures, and guidelines. This position will assist the Director in improving work processes related to SAGE.
Requirements for this position include:
1. Master?s degree in business, education or other health related field required.
2. Minimum 1 year of competence in theoretical ethics required or minimum of 3 years of demonstrated technique in adult learning and proven teaching ability considered in lieu of ethics experience.
3. Experience facilitating projects in the areas of education, community service, committee work, and outreach services.
4. Ability to deal with sensitive and emotionally charged issues in a confidential and professional manner and to establish cooperative relations with health professionals contacted in the course of work.
5. Ability to multitask, work both independently and in a team oriented environment, set priorities, take initiative, solve problems, quickly understand new information and issues, and work with people from a variety of roles.
6. Excellent human relation skills with the ability to mentor, train and coach various levels of staff with varying backgrounds.
7. Ability to develop and implement classes and education based on medical ethics training and relevant healthcare laws and other standards that apply in healthcare.
8. Ability to travel, including overnight stays.
9. Excellent communication skills.
