Hours: 2:45 p.m. to 11:15 p.m. with Weekend Rotation

The processing technician is responsible to decontaminate, assemble, sterilize or disinfect, and store reprocessable supplies and equipment for all patient-care areas; to maintain a case-cart system for the Operating Room.  As an Orientee, the processing technician is responsible to complete training in all of the following areas and to pass a competency requirement in order to promote to Novice Technician.  At least 16 weeks of orientation is required before promotion.  At the end of the orientation, candidate is expected to have an awareness of all procedures and processes and knows where and when to seek additional assistance.


 


Requirements of the position include:


1.        Education or training;  High school graduate required


2.        Experience:  Minimum of three years experience in a job that requires autonomous tasks where judgment  of  priorities is a routine element.  Experience in a related field is preferred.


3.        No supervision of others required.
