Basic Function:
This senior nurse leader is accountable for direction and coordination related to clinical and administrative operations within the Nursing Division. Provides ongoing guidance and support to ensure the alignment of assigned patient care units/managers/staff with the Division and organizational mission/vision/strategies and goals. Facilitates interdepartmental communication and collaboration to optimize team relationships and quality patient outcomes. Assists with special projects within the Nursing Division including the development/implementation of new patient care programs/services and initiatives related to quality, safety and efficiency of assigned nursing units. Ensures incorporation of Magnet Program principles and concepts into the day to day functioning of the assigned nursing units. Serves as a core member of the CNO?s senior nursing leadership group.
Specifications:
1. Current licensure in the State of Illinois as a Registered Professional Nurse.
2. BSN and Master's degree in Nursing, Business or Healthcare Administration required
3. Minimum five years management/administrative experience required
4. Clinical nursing experience in the specialty areas of assigned units required.
5. Demonstrates:
a. Outstanding human relations/communication skills.
b. Ability to bring complex issues to closure.
c. Understanding/experience with budgeting/fiscal management activities.
d. Ability to function as a change agent.
6. Annual attendance at educational programs pertaining to areas of responsibility.
