Basic Function:


Under direct supervision, works from specifications on designing, developing and debugging new application software products or enhancements to existing application software.  Writes programs according to specifications from higher level staff.  May assist in development of user documentation. Works with technical staff to learn and understand problems with software and resolve them.  Resolves user complaints with software and responds to suggestions for improvements and enhancements.


 


Requirements for this position include:


1.    Bachelor?s degree in computer science or other related field is required.  Four years experience in application programming and/or development particularly as it pertains to electronic record systems etc. may be considered in lieu of educational requirements. 


2.    Two or more years experience in Information Technology including software development, advanced support management or other similar experience required.  Relevant system experience in complex software development on multiple computer system platforms is preferred.


3.    Work and/or academic experience building software solutions utilizing common development frameworks, relational databases, and common Web protocols and services, not required but desirable.


4.    Demonstrated problem solving skills and ability to consistently exercise sound judgment and initiative in all circumstances, including very stressful situations and ability to effectively manage competing priorities essential.


5.    Demonstrated dedication to a positive attitude, strong customer service support


6.    Demonstrated technical and business written, verbal and presentation skills required.


7.    Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment is essential.


8.    Demonstrated ability to execute projects from start to finish including the development, measurement and reporting of key performance indicators and commitment to continuous quality improvement.


9.    Demonstrated ability to achieve results and inspire others to do the same is essential.  Personal accountability for results is essential to success in this position.
