The PAS Educator is responsible for all of the technical and procedural education needs related to patient registration for PAS staff and decentralized registrars including, but not limited to: Radiology, MOHA, Laboratory, FMS, Independence Square, Koke Mill Rehab, and Sportscare staff. Responsible for research, knowledge of individual area work flows, department and system policies, and environment changes. Using the experience in areas and the current needs as a platform, the educator will perform duties spanning the scope of education in regards to registration at MMC/MHS.  Also, serves as a resource person to Supervisors/Managers/Director.


 

1.    Baccalaureate degree with a minimum of 2 years experience in healthcare or training/teaching required; Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) or Certified Healthcare Access Mgmt (CHAM) preferred or completion of certification process within 1 year of employment preferred.


2.    Certified Technical Trainer, or completion of certification process within 4 months of employment.


3.    American Society of Training and Development (ASTD) Training Certificate, or completion of certification process within 6 months of employment.


4.    Excellent human relation skills with the ability to mentor/train/coach various levels of staff with varying backgrounds.


5.    Ability to develop and implement classes and education based on department changes and trends in healthcare.


6.    Clear understanding of PAS department and the different PAS positions and responsibilities.


7.    Demonstrated outstanding presentation, facilitation and group process skills.


8.    Demonstrated ability to use word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, presentation software and all registration software (ERM/ESM/FirstNet/Surginet/NDAS/ExpressBill).


9.    Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication, problem-solving, customer relations, listening and interpersonal skills.


10. Demonstrates ability to work successfully with internal and external contacts.


11. Demonstrates ability to work independently.
