Early Childhood Teaching Assistant In Illinois Job Details

Basic Function: Primary responsibility under the guidance of the Teacher, is to provide a safe and nurturing environment for children that encourage their social, emotional, physical and intellectual development through designing and implementing a developmentally appropriate curriculum according to guidelines established by the Creative Curriculum and the National Association for the Education of Young Children and the Illinois Department of Children and Family services. 

Requirements for this position include:

 1. Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) or enrollment in a program leading to a CDA or accepted NAEYC equivalent (provide Documentation of 12 college credits in early childhood education, child development, elementary education or early childhood special education that encompasses the following:  child development and learning of children birth through kindergarten; family and community relationships; observing, documenting, and assessing young children; teaching and learning; and professional practices and development.) with significant progress within one year of hire date.  Progress will be measured through an established educational plan to be reviewed and revised on a yearly basis. 

2. Must be at least 19 year of age and have high school diploma or equivalency certificate (GED).

3. Excellent communication skills
