Basic Function:


 


Performs educational needs assessments and develops, implements, and evaluates educational programming to meet the learning needs of the Orthopaedic Service line patients and/or employees. Responsible for regular in-service training of nursing personnel and designated hospital departments. In collaboration with the Coordinator, is responsible for various aspects of program management designed to enhance the patient experience.


                                                                                                                                               


 


Specifications:  Knowledge, Training, Work Experiences & Physical Effort


 


1.     RN license in the State of Illinois.


2.     Five years of clinical experience required, preferably in orthopedics and/or surgical nursing.


3.     Demonstrated experience with program development/management, including data collection and quality monitoring activities.


4.     Experience providing in-service education for hospital staff as well as presentations for consumers/public.


5.     Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.


6.     Demonstrated skills in high-quality customer service


7.     Proven ability to function in autonomous/independent role; is highly motivated and self-directed.


8.     Current or willing to achieve ONC (Orthopaedic Nurse Certified) status within two years of employment.
