Basic Function: The Network team is responsible for all network hardware and related technologies including: Routers, Switches, Wireless, VPN, and WAN circuits. The Network Lead Engineer will act as the technical lead and provide technical training, coaching and mentoring to others. Lead the daily activities of the team and provide support to establish priorities. Provide technical evaluations and consulting support for projects. Assist the Manager of Network Operations with assignments as required. Design, develop and implement various Enterprise level solutions. Analyze business requirements (functional and technical) by conducting information gathering sessions with customers, analyzing the information and prioritizing the requirements to gain understanding of the business needs. Provide advanced technical support to the business for complex projects. Perform advanced troubleshooting and resolution of Sev 1 and Sev 2 problems. Responsible for constant monitoring of performance, availability, and maintainability of all Cisco enterprise infrastructure hardware and related software applications and for performing and drawing conclusions from cost benefit analyses of systems to continuously improve results and identify opportunities for decreased total cost of ownership through design changes in underlying network architecture. Identify opportunities to improve user experience and functionality through evaluation, collaboration and implementation of new applications and functionality and migrating to new solutions as appropriate. Also leads investigation of new technologies to ensure technology is appropriate and up-to-date to support on-going organizational requirements. Support other security, development and production support efforts across the organization as needed.
Requirements for this position include:
1. Bachelor's degree in computer related field, or six to eight years experience in Network administration in lieu of degree required.
2. Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) designation a plus.
3. Five to ten years experience with Cisco networking equipment and software and demonstrated ability to successfully lead on-going systems improvement, upgrade and implementation projects.
4. Previous supervisory experience preferred.
5. Deep knowledge of all facets of enterprise network and storage area network technology.
6. Enterprise network integration experience required including assessment, installation, project management, and documentation expertise necessary.
7. Demonstrated experience training others in technical nature of systems integration and implementation required.
8. Ability to assess, develop and implement creative solutions to ensure appropriate total cost of ownership of existing systems.
9. Must possess strong oral and written communication skills, planning skills, problem-solving skills, and change management skills.
10. Must possess strong skills in personal diplomacy and customer service and consistently demonstrate a high level of motivation, commitment to teamwork, professionalism and trustworthiness.
11. Must possess sound decision-making ability, operate well under pressure and be tenacious in resolving difficult problems.
12. Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with staff at all levels of the organization including medical staff and senior management.
