Basic Function: Manages the physical and human resources associated with the MMC Distribution Center ? a department of the MMC Supply Chain Division. Manages an inventory of approximately $400,000 (annual inventory throughput = $12.7M).  Implements, monitors, and gauges the effectiveness of unit work methods and standards to ensure optimal product availability, delivery, and cost containment. Has financial responsibility for the department including labor expense and financial statement reconciliation. Manages all components of the MHS Fleet Management program including the Voyager fuel program.


Requirements for the position include:


1)  Bachelor's degree with a minimum of three (3) year's experience supervising the functions of warehouse, inventory control, materials distribution, and related function(s), or the equivalent in education/work experience is required. CMRP or CPM certification highly recommended.


2)  Previous experience in a distribution center within the health care industry is highly preferred.


3)  Demonstrates excellent oral/written communication and customer service skills.


4)  Possesses a comprehensive technical proficiency in all areas of the distribution center and inventory control functions, including the vehicles and equipment used, such as straight trucks and lift trucks, stock selectors, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.


5)  Demonstrates excellent interpersonal, leadership, and training skills.


6)  Possesses accounting skills commensurate with responsibilities, including budgeting and evaluation of performance against budget, financial statement reconciliation.


7)  Demonstrates a good working knowledge of electronic inventory systems and personal computers and their associated applications, including word processing and spreadsheet software. Previous experience with Microsoft products, such as Word, Excel, and Outlook is preferred. Experience with Lawson Procurement Suite components is also a plus.


8)  Must possess valid C class Illinois drivers license and must be deemed as an acceptable driver in accordance with the MHS Fleet Safety (five year MVR will be required).


9)  Successful completion of the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) physical examination.


10) Demonstrates the ability to tolerate close and prolonged close eye work, lift up to 100 pounds, and stand for prolonged periods throughout the day.
