Basic Function:
The Manager of Network Operations is responsible for the management and oversight of the multi-disciplinary Network Operations Team. Responsible for directing, monitoring, planning, and controlling the activities and functions associated with the operations of the centralized internetwork architecture and related information technologies at MHS to support current goals and project future requirements in support of the strategic plan, operating objectives and goals of MHS. Responsible for the overall integration of the enterprise-wide network including the planning, design, installation, maintenance, management, and coordination of the corporate LAN/WAN. Has responsibility for technical architecture and recommendations related to LAN/WAN. Responsible for supervising and managing all Network Operations activities. Works with IS and other MHS user departments to define needs and changes. Responsible for all Telecom and Telecom data, IP telephony, wireless and Vocera operations and technical support. Works closely with the IS Financial Manager to manage project level fiscal accountability, vendor invoice validation and payment approvals. Focused on becoming a "best of breed" Network Operations center of excellence. As an IS management team member, work to integrate all activities across the department and model appropriate behavior as exemplified in the MHS Behavioral Standards and Mission and Values Statement.
Requirements for this position include:
1. Bachelor's degree in computer science or other related field is required. Four to six years previous applied knowledge, particularly in network operations management, may be considered in lieu of educational requirements. Master's degree in Computer Science or Business a plus.
2. Five or more years experience in Information Technology including project management, advanced support management or other similar experience required.
3. Demonstrated management skills particularly in the management of people, hardware, software, and other IS-related resources including budgetary responsibilities. Previous management or supervisory experience of 3 or more years is preferred.
4. Advanced technical certification (e.g. MCSE, CCIE, CCNP, etc.) preferred.
5. Demonstrated problem solving skills and ability to consistently exercise sound judgment, initiative and creativity in all circumstances, including very stressful situations and ability to effectively manage competing priorities is essential.
6. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff both in and outside of IS is essential.
7. Demonstrated dedication to strong customer service support and commitment to the achievement of Memorial's strategic goals is essential.
8. Demonstrated technical- and business-focused written, verbal and presentation skills required.
9. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team environment is essential. Must be equally as comfortable in leadership roles as in supporting roles of other team members.
10. Demonstrated ability to execute projects from start to finish including the development, measurement and reporting of key performance indicators and commitment to continuous quality improvement..
11. Demonstrated ability to achieve results and inspire others to do the same is essential. Personal accountability for results is essential to success in this position.
