 Basic Function: Under general direction, has full technical knowledge of the project. Also has duties of instructing, assigning, directing and checking the work of programmer/analysts, systems analysts and applications analyst assisting with technical delivery. Assists in scheduling and coordinating projects. Works with users and technical staff to resolve problems with software and responds to suggestions for improvements and enhancements.  Acts as lead on projects and demonstrates software. Leads the development of software user documentation.

Requirements of the position include:

1. Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Math or another computer type degree.  Four of more equivalent applied knowledge specific to extensive programming background may be considered in lieu of educational requirements preferably in a healthcare setting.  

2. Seven or more years experience in programming in diverse languages including but not limited to Micro focus COBOL, Perl, SQL or equivalent preferably in a healthcare setting. 

3. Proficient detailed understanding of computer systems including hardware, operating systems, programming languages and data communications.  Unix AIX 5.3 operating system experience preferred.  Websphere and Java experience also preferred.

4. Ability to program both standard and proprietary programming languages.

5. Ability to train and provide guidance to less experienced programmers.

6. Ability to schedule, coordinate and lead projects.

7. Good verbal and written communication skills.

8. Skill in developing good interpersonal relationships.

9. Light physical effort.
