Responsible for planning, coordination, directing and supervising the activities of the Regional Cancer Center, including Radiation Oncology, Cancer Registry, Central Illinois Community Clinical Oncology Program (Cancer Research), and Cancer Education. Has authority and accountability for planning, directing and coordinating all oncology initiatives in order to achieve operational excellence. Leads efforts to support and continually improve the coordination and delivery of oncology services using evidence based guidelines. Assists in the development, interpretation, and application of Medical Center policies, budget, and long-range plans for facilities, equipment, and personnel. Monitors operations and quality standards to assure compliance with governmental regulations and meet standards established by accrediting agencies.
Requirements for the position include: 1.Bachelor's degree in an administrative field, or 3 years progressive management experience in a health care facility required. Master's degree in nursing, business, health care administration, or related professional field preferred. 2.Minimum of five years progressive responsibility in health care management in a hospital setting required. Demonstrated experience working effectively with physicians and other healthcare managers in a multidisciplinary environment. 3.Aptitude to work in a changing and ambiguous environment as a change agent. 4.Experience in budgeting, operational planning, project management, and performance improvement processes. 5.Excellent verbal and written communication ability required. 6.Excellent human relations and customer service skills required. 7.Clinical licensure in the State of Illinois for cancer related profession. Active standing with ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) highly desireable. 8.Annual attendance at educational programs pertaining to areas of responsibility.
