ALMH-Blue Cross/Commercial Specialist In Illinois Job Details

Basic Function: Analyzes, investigates, and resolves claims/billing information and/or errors associated with inpatient and outpatient Blue Cross and Commercial claims.  Ensures compliance with Blue Cross and Commercial guidelines and ALMH organizational polices.

Requirements for this position include:

1. High school or GED equivalent required.


2. Basic working knowledge of personal computers and their associate user software required.


3. Previous experience with Blue Cross and Commercial billing and software (CPSI and NEBO) highly preferred.


4. Familiarity with medical terminology, medical procedural (CPT) and diagnosis (ICD-9CM) coding and hospital billing claims form UB-92 highly preferred.


5. Experience with Microsoft Office products such as Word and Excel preferred.


6. Ability to multi-task while working on multiple responsibilities simultaneously.


7. Ability to work successfully with internal customers and external contacts.


8. Highly-developed critical thinking and problem solving-ability to work through complex situations.


9. Excellent oral and written communication, keyboarding, basic math and problem solving skills.
