Basic Function: Codes and abstracts primarily all outpatient medical records. Has access to all protected health information.
Requirements for this position are: High school graduate or GED equivalent required. Basic ICD-9-CM and CPT preparation through a formal program of study required. Experience with 3M encoder preferred. RHIT certification or CCS preferred. Minimum one year full-time hospital outpatient coding experience required. Medical terminology and anatomy and physiology required. Knowledge of DRG's and APC's required.
