Basic Function: Support the development, modification, and administration of specialized patient care systems and medical devices particularly related to Cardiology, Radiology, Lab and other ancillary hospital service departments and including the life cycle management of digital images. Assists in planning, organizing, managing, communicating, and controlling the analysis, evaluation, design, maintenance, and support of complex and highly integrated computer-based application software related to the systems in these areas and in multiple entities including integration into the relevant electronic medical record (EMR) systems in use across Memorial Health System. Coordinates the development of system outputs including interfaces and reports to effectively document and analyze the information flow necessary to ensure the delivery of quality patient care.  Serve as a facilitator, advisor, trainer and analyst during design, development, evaluation, selection, implementation and ongoing support of all assigned systems.


 


Requirements for this position include:


1.    Bachelor?s degree in computer science or other related field is required.  Four to six years applied knowledge particularly in specific systems such as imaging; picture archiving and communication systems (PACS), electronic record systems etc. may be considered in lieu of educational requirements.  Experience in the healthcare industry in similar clinical areas is preferred.


2.    Four or more years experience in Information Technology required including project management, advanced support management or other similar experience.  Relevant system experience in imaging, PACS, EMR systems is preferred.


3.    Broad experience in IT is necessary including proficiency with personal computer systems and general knowledge of interfaces, networks and hardware required.  Basic understanding of programming and its application is also necessary.


4.    Demonstrated problem solving skills and ability to consistently exercise sound judgment and initiative in all circumstances, including very stressful situations.  Must also be able to effectively manage competing priorities.


5.    Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff both in and outside of IT essential as well as experience in dealing with and negotiating IT contracts and service level agreements with external vendors required.


6.    Demonstrated dedication to a positive attitude, strong customer service support and commitment to the achievement of Memorial?s strategic goals is essential.


7.    Demonstrated technical and business written, verbal and presentation skills required.


8.    Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment is essential.


9.    Demonstrated ability to execute projects from start to finish including the development, measurement and reporting of key performance indicators and commitment to continuous quality improvement required.


10.   Demonstrated ability to achieve results and inspire others to do the same is essential.  Personal accountability for results is essential to success in this position as well as dedication to continue learning and investigation of relevant technology improvements is imperative.
