Surgical Technologist In Illinois Job Details

Hours: 10 - 12 hour Day shift w/rotation to Evening & Night shift

Basic Functions: To perform "scrub" technologist duties for scheduled surgeries, assist with the draping and utilization of instruments for a particular surgery and age of the patient serviced.  Demonstrates knowledge in the basic principles of sterile technique and sterilization procedures.

Requirements of the position include:  Successfully completed Surgical Technologist program, previous experience as an OR Technician.  High-school graduate diploma.  A class in Anatomy and Physiology preferred. Attends JCAHO, OSHA, and hospital/nurse manager-specified mandatory inservices.  Obtains four contact hours in area of interest.
