Childcare Director In Illinois Job Details

Basic Function: Lead the strategic direction, design and operations of the child care center, acting as a liaison with Memorial Health System leaders, child care center staff, employees, and parents of children.  Supervises 50 childcare staff members. 

The child care center is open from 5:45 am - 6:30 pm, Monday through Friday and accepts children (ages 6 weeks to 5 years) of Memorial Health System employees

Requirements for this position include:

1. Bachelor's degree in early childhood education, child development or related field.  Masters degree desirable.


2. Hold and maintain IDCFS Childcare Director qualifications.


3. Five years experience in the successful management of a large child care center or comparable related work experience.


4. Ability to present oral and written materials effectively.


5. Capacity to build, counsel and lead great work teams.


6. Willingness to remain current in child development by participating in professional development activities.


7. Business operation skills and acumen, to include the accurate preparation, evaluation and use of spreadsheets and operations reports as the foundation of information needed to operate the Center successfully.


8. Personal experience in the accreditation with the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).
