Basic Function: Performs educational needs assessments and develops, implements and evaluates educational programming to meet the learning needs of the Cardiovascular Service employees. Serves as a resource person and consultant to managers in the development of educational programs to enhance staff competency and professional growth.

Requirements of the position include: Registered Nurse with current licensure in the State of Illinois; Bachelors Degree in Nursing required, Masters degree in Nursing, Education or related field preferred; Five years experience in cardiovascular nursing required (3 years of critical care experience preferred); Experience planning and presenting educational programs required; Certification by AHA as a CPR Instructor-Trainer. Other certifications required for specific job responsibilities (CCRN preferred & ACLS instructor required); Demonstrated skills in all forms of communication and customer service; Demonstrated ability to educate others utilizing adult learning principles.
