Surgical Technologist In Illinois Job Details

Shift: Days and Weekend Rotation
Hours: 10 or 12 hour shifts

Basic Functions: To perform "scrub" technologist duties for scheduled surgeries, assist with the draping and utilization of instruments for a particular surgery and age of the patient serviced.  Demonstrates knowledge in the basic principles of sterile technique and sterilization procedures.

Requirements of the position include:  High-school graduate diploma.  A class in Anatomy and Physiology preferred.  Successfully completed OR-Technician training program, previous experience as an OR Technician, or recent graduate of an OR Technician program.  Attends JCAHO, OSHA, and hospital/nurse manager-specified mandatory inservices.  Obtains four contact hours in area of interest.
