Basic Function: Under the direction of the Director, the Analyst - Transcription Services (ATS), will be responsible for the strategic initiatives and daily management of transcription services provides at Memorial Medical Center. The ATS will plan, organize, manage, communicate, and control the analysis, evaluation, design, maintenance, and support of complex and highly visible transcription applications, including integration into the relevant electronic medical record (EMR) systems in use across Memorial Health System. In accordance with established standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines, the ATS will provide technical support and maintenance, front line production support, project planning, data analysis, problem identification and resolution, reporting, and physician communication and support. The TC will performs assessment of physician transcription needs, identify, designs, implements and troubleshoot transcription services available to physicians.
Requirements of the position include:
1. Bachelor Degree in Health Information Management, Computer Science, Business, Health Care, or related discipline required.
2. Two to four years of physician relations, health information management, transcription management, information technology, or project management required.
3. Demonstrated analytical skills required.
4. Demonstrated ability to use word processing, spreadsheet, e-mail and presentation software required.
5. Demonstrated understanding of computer systems including proficiency with personal computer systems and general knowledge of interfaces, networks and hardware required. Basic understanding of programming required.
6. Evidence of leadership, creativity, integrity, and initiative. Evidence of ability to achieve results and inspire others to do the same, personal accountability, and dedication to continue learning and investigating relevant technology required.
7. Demonstrated outstanding oral and written communication skills, planning skills, problem-solving skills, and change management skills.
8. Demonstrated strong skills in personal diplomacy; demonstrates personal traits of a high level of motivation, team orientation, professionalism and trustworthiness.
9. Demonstrated sound decision-making ability, operate well under pressure and be tenacious in resolving difficult problems. Able to managed multiple priorities.
10. Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with staff at all levels of the organization required, including medical staff.
11. Support the department director on all key strategic initiatives and daily operational tasks.
12. Availability for system support which may include, but is not limited to, 24 hour and/or weekend call for systems.
