Basic Function: Develops, plans and implements the annual Home Health plan as it relates to all HH patient care services and departments in collaboration with Administrator.  Participates in long range strategic planning for department and agency.  Responsible for daily operations of HH nursing and social services departments; and psychiatric and maternal-child programs.  Manages HH nursing department budget, staffing mix, and productivity.  Responsible for hiring, recruiting, and supervising HH staff.  Ensures compliance with agency policies and procedures, quality improvement plan, and state and federal regulations.  Functions as agency clinical liaison with community, physicians, Memorial Health System's departments and all Agency departments.  Assumes twenty-four hour accountability for HH patient care services; accountability and responsibility for the Memorial Home Services, Home Health Division, and provides general administrative functions as designated by Administrator.

Requirements for this position include:

1.   BSN required and current license to practice professional nursing in Illinois.

2.   A minimum of four years in home health clinical experience is required.

3.   At least one year in a supervisory/management capacity required.

4.   Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.

5.   Demonstrate ability with problem-solving and decision-making to develop innovative approaches to a changing home health care environment.

6.   Demonstrate analytical skills.

7.   Knowledge of Quality Improvement philosophy and process.

8.   Universal Precaution Category I.
